According to an old English proverb, a cat has nine lives. And while that isn't actually the case, one young feline in Italy certainly tested the theory when it got stuck in a water pipe.
Firefighters in Capannori, a town near the city of Lucca in the Tuscany region, went into action after receiving a call that a kitten was lodged in a pipe behind the concrete wall of a building. The firefighters used a probe to locate the frightened animal, then prized it out through a hole in a painstaking operation that took around five hours to complete.
